Show moreThis presentation was delivered by a student in the Summer Internships in Parallel Computational Science Program (SIParCS) at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). SIParCS embeds graduate and undergraduate students as summer interns in NCAR's Computational and Information System Laboratory, offering them significant hands-on R&D opportunities in high performance computing (HPC) and related fields that use HPC for scientific discovery and modeling. This project looks to increase the functionality of the Earth System Modeling Framework (ESMF) by developing an internal architecture to allow Gridspec-based regridding tools like those provided in Unidata’s LibCF package to be run through ESMF’s regridding API. This will allow the ESMF to provide any regridding functionality developed for these tools in addition to the ESMF’s own functionality. Show less
